Hi there!

I’m Sascha. I’m based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where I live with my partner and our two teenage daughters. Our home is a true piece of history—a protected monument built in the 1880s, complete with two gnomes on the roof. I like to think they bring a bit of magic into our everyday lives!

My workspace

Most mornings you’ll find me at my desk with a latte, reading non-fiction and planning my day. At the moment I’m working on my very first illustration series – and it’s all about coffee! The funny part? I didn’t even start drinking coffee until I was in my forties.

Creative?

I never thought of myself as creative, at least not until I was in my forties. Even then, I stumbled into drawing almost by accident. It started with a few simple doodles in my bullet journal. A few years later, I was creating printable bullet journal pages. In 2018 I began sharing them here for free and I have been doing so ever since. From monthly calendars to habit trackers and illustrations. I share these downloadable printables exclusively with my newsletter subscribers.

Life is short

When my mother passed away, I realized how short life is and how important it is to spend more time doing what truly matters to me. So I took a sabbatical from my work as a freelance project manager and communications advisor to slow down and reconnect with what brings me joy. I picked up piano, did some profound decluttering, and most importantly, gave myself the space to draw and discover my own creative style. Over time, I started to wonder if I could take my illustrations a step further and explore whether a creative business might be the right path for me. So, I decided to go for it: I recently opened my Etsy shop!

The future

I don’t know exactly where this creative journey will take me. And that’s okay. I’m enjoying the process of learning new skills, stretching my creative muscles and figuring stuff out as I go. Maybe one day I’ll feel ready to call myself an artist or illustrator, and even be able to make a living doing what I truly love. Who knows what is possible?
